The Flower Bearer

The Flower Bearer is a 41′ x 15′ mural honoring the late Susan Ard — a beloved volunteer known for her generous spirit and deep love for her community. Located on the side of Becky’s Antiques, the mural features a vibrant bouquet centered around the ALS awareness blue cornflower, surrounded by Susan’s favorite blooms. A gloved hand extends the bouquet to the town with a note reading, “To Louisville, with Love – Susan.”

Created over 11 days during a rainy Mississippi spring, the mural sparked renewed local pride. In addition to the mural, I was invited to hand-paint a new sign for Becky’s Antiques, refreshing the building and honoring Susan’s legacy of beautifying the space. The project became a heartfelt celebration of community, remembrance, and the power of public art to uplift and connect.
