In Bloom Series

The In Bloom series is a vibrant mural initiative commissioned by the English Department in the College of Liberal Arts to honor the legacy of literary giants who have shaped its identity. Originally created to pay tribute to Phillis Wheatley and Margaret Walker Alexander, the series has since blossomed into a broader celebration of writers, scholars, and visionaries whose work has influenced the department’s evolution. Through expressive florals and symbolic imagery, each mural captures the lasting impact of these legends, reflecting how their words continue to inspire new generations.
